A market leader and renowned supplier in the automobile industry; the group has a strong international presence and has achieved global recognition for its high technology products.
Mission
The main focus of this newly created position will be defining and implementing a reorganised Purchasing and Supply Chain structure within the group.
As Vice President of Purchasing and Supply Chain you will be a member of the group’s investment steering committee.
Responsibilities
You will report directly to the CEO of the division and also to the Group’s Purchasing VP on an operational level. Your responsibilities will be as follows:
- Putting in place a new Purchasing and Supply Chain strategy : management of commodity purchasing (raw materials, packaging and general expenses), supplier quality, business relationships with suppliers as well as all other aspects linked to supply chain and logistics management
- As a member of the executive committee team you will work in close collaboration with all stakeholders at both divisional and group level
- Defining and implementing an in depth Purchasing and Supply Chain structure transformation strategy, including : effective tools and clear and simplified processes in order to improve Supply Chain performance with a view to improving the performance of the division
- Ensuring the involvement of your multiple teams of around 200+ purchasing and supply chain professionals in total, in order to develop and put in place a sourcing strategy, supplier development and improvement of the Supply Chain
- Structuring your teams by means of clear objectives, the implementation of a structured method and the launch of talent and people development projects
- Accompanying and developing your teams around ‘Purchasing and Supply Chain best practice’ with the aim of producing concrete results in terms of cost controlling, product quality, flexibility and reactivity in the face of client demand
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Business or of preference in Engineering - MBA preferred.
- Other additional qualifications in Operations, LEAN, Inventory Management and Financial Management would be advantageous.
- More than 10 years experience in Purchasing and Supply Chain in senior positions (operational experience an advantage)
- Successful production experience (mass production), preferably in the automobile industry.
- Leadership, good negotiator, strong analytical skills, proven relationship building skills both internally and externally.
- Experience in innovating, creating synergy within teams and talent development in multicultural organisations.
- Experience in change management/transformation projects and the reorganisation of Purchasing/ Supply Chain.
Languages
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Other language a plus
- Frequent international travel
