Key accountabilities for this role include
- Identifying supplier cost drivers and driving cost improvement.
- Identifying and developing cost reduction opportunities and prioritizing to deliver timely target cost – through engagement within the supply chain.
- Leading development of component / sub system cost models (inc. User Friendly Cost Standards) using Value Improvement and Engineering tools and techniques as appropriate.
- Ensuring that User Friendly Cost Standards are generated and deployed in line with global commodity strategy.
- Developing of global commodity User Friendly Cost Standards (UFCS's).
- Deploying commodity specific User Friendly Cost Standards training.
- Continuously leading /mentoring Buyers/Engineering/Integrated Project Teams and SCU (IPT's) to optimize cost during negotiation/product development process
Qualifications and experience
- Degree in engineering.
- Strong Manufacturing/Industrial/Process engineering background.
- Understanding of principles of finance with a sound understanding of cost drivers and cost models would be highly advantageous.
- Understanding of lean principles.
- Proven track record in delivering results.
- Ability to work in a team and to communicate globally.
- Willingness to travel regionally and internationally intensively.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
