Responsibilities
- Drive and lead the strategic sourcing project on product/assembly level (instruments and/or POS type of business) with focus on lowering company costs (increased positive PPV) and minimizing company risk.
- Perform ongoing market research of high-risk commodities in order to take advantage of opportunities as well as to mitigate risk where applicable.
- Determining the optimal sourcing strategy, competitively bidding our requirements, negotiating costs along with terms and conditions and contracting and implementing final solution.
- Bid out company's direct requirements through compilation of data in order to submit RFxs to a qualified supplier market. Coordinate sampling process with Engineering to ensure that alternative solutions are viable.
- Setup of supply chain and logistics with the support of Group Supply Chain Management and Group Logistics
- Evaluation of vertical Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) based on product
- Establish redesign (change of requirements) process between SBU and EMS
- Establish Supplier Relation Management with EMS with the support of our Global Supply Chain Management organization
Requirements
- MA degree or equivalent, preferably in quantitative discipline (business/finance/economics/engineering/ mathematics) and more than 7 years experience with Sourcing, Negotiation, Supplier Evaluation, Risk Mitigation, Commodity Market Research, Index Pricing and Total Cost Assessments within international environment
- Strong project management skills
- A true team-player with initiative, used to work in virtual and multi-cultural teams
- Effective communicator with good networking skills
- Fluent in English. German and Chinese are an advantage
- Readiness to travel (20 - 30 %)
