- Define and implement the Sourcing Strategy of the mechanical commodity (casting parts, heavy machined parts, stamped parts, rotor blades…) while contributing to the building up of a “state of the art” purchasing organization.
- Manage the commodity to respond to the increasing market demand and keep Purchasing in line with company objectives in terms of Quality, Cost, Delivery and Service.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for a purchasing portfolio of about 60 M€ (budget is expected to increase drastically during the next 3 years), from sourcing to execution of contract.
- Extend supplier base, manage and develop suppliers outside Europe (Eastern Asia and North America), negotiate and conclude frame agreements with suppliers.
- Monitor all risk and opportunity factors concerning cost competitiveness.
- Monitor the relevant KPIs to secure deliveries and to secure the purchasing cost.
- Build and steer the Annual Purchasing Performance Plan
- Develop and steer improvement plans (quality, Cost, Lead time, Service)
- Build strong links to the major stakeholders in and outside the company. Make sure that positive synergy occurs between his teams, BU and corporate teams.
- Plan, organize and manage the team activities. Manage and develop his team members
Requirements
- Engineering or University degree or equivalent education + complementary training in Purchasing )
- At least 5 years professional experience including Purchasing, or a profession involving excellent negotiation skills
- Experience of the Wind Industry.
- Knowledge competitive markets with suppliers in a monopolistic or oligopolistic position at international level, including the ability to deal with SOC suppliers.
- Technical understanding.
- Strong leadership skills and a first experience in team-management
- Very good communication and negotiation skills
- Result-oriented
- At least bilingual (Fluent in German and English.)
