Our Client
is global automotive supplier dedicated to the design, the manufacture and the sale of components, integrated systems and modules for cars and heavy lorries. Due to substantial development and introduction of new, challenging and innovative project, they are looking for experienced purchasing professional to join their newly established project team.
Mission
Reporting to Project Manager and Site Purchasing Manager your main mission will consist on piloting supplier integration in the projects to optimize materials QCDI and non recurring costs and ensure commodity strategy deployment in the projects.
Responsibilities
- Support project award during CAA with competitive costs and savings plan to finance project acquisition, seeks and obtain purchasing CAA validation
- Build up project supplier target panel from pre-SOCO with commodity organization (RSL/BGSL) to bundle awards
- Voice of segment strategy in the project, and voice of the project to the segments
- Install competition between suppliers after pre-SOCO, bringing at least two suppliers at the same technical level before the SOCO for all components, proceeds with all negotiations before sourcing to push the cost down
- Leverage commodity organization to reach pre-sourcing, sourcing decisions and meet project targets and offset with supply base quick savings imposed by customers
- Ensure timely sign off with the segments of all supplier contracts related the project (from development contracts to mass production)
- Achieve project purchasing index
- For global platforms assembled in multiple plants, coordinate with PG/PLPPD and other project buyers to ensure project will meet from SOP with (i) commodity strategy requirement in every region, (ii) localization in line with needs of receiving plant, (iii) global leverage and securisation of the supply base for the platform
- If required, support R&D with prototypes and pre-serial sourcing commercial negotiations (physical management of parts supply not under purchasing scope)
- Liaise with purchasing Non Production organization to achieve project investments and tooling targets
- Manage achievement of all project milestones related to suppliers
- Define and control communication flows and contents between project teams and suppliers
- Warrant utilization of Group project purchasing and suppliers quality tools and information systems
- Ensure capacities for all components are covered for his project, in liaison with the commodity organization
- For advanced purchasing (P3/P2) :
- propose and validate with commodity organization pre-sourcing target suppliers
- manage all contractual aspects to protect intellectual property and segment panel
Requirements
- Min. 3 years of experience in purchasing in automotive sector (international environment)
- A strong background on mechanical commodities like aluminum die-casting, cutting & stamping, forging, turning & machining and plastic injection would be of great asset
- Engineering background or a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (business/finance/economics/mathematics)
- Fluent English
- Significant proven competency in purchasing processes and best practices
- Experience working directly with key stakeholders in business units
- Ability to interface with internal customers and suppliers via strong written and verbal communications skills
