Our client
Our client is one of the world’s leaders in the beverage industry with multiple legendary brands. In order to contribute to the objective of building a long-term future of its brands and business through the purchasing organization, our client is looking for a “Global Category Buyer for Logistics”.
Mission
- Lead contracting on major Logistics tenders, plus Development of the Logistics Purchasing and Contract Management function worldwide by securing multi-year uninterrupted supply at competitive cost and quality compliance.
Responsibilities
The total category includes for example Sea Freight, Warehousing, Road transportation and other services (e.g. Warehouse Equipment, Pallets, Fork Lift Trucks, Maintenance & Repair, Other vehicles).
Direct spend responsibility can range from €25m to €200m, depending on functional and geographic scope.
Reporting to the Global Category Leader Logistics within Group Purchasing, main responsibilities are:
- Independently tender and negotiate significant value contracts for the category, engaging and managing internal support where necessary (legal, functional expertise).
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the category purchasing strategy.
- Independently manage improvement projects.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders in Operating Company (OpCo) and Group functions.
- Manage the relationship with key suppliers for the category.
- Regularly report performance of the category to the Global Category Leader and relevant functions, for example, finance and control.
- Take full ownership of own personal development planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master Degree. A minimum 3 years in supply chain or purchasing roles in an international blue chip environment.
- Extensive and demonstrable success in purchasing experience is required.
- Multi-cultural experience through management of international relationships is preferred.
- Being mobile and prepared to undertake frequent international travel is required.
Language
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Conditions
Attractive salary package depending on profile and experience. Contracts will be offered on a local basis. Relocation is not required and therefore relocation assistance will not be provided.
Location
Working location for new team members will be flexible, with Zoeterwoude (NL) as the central hub. Group purchasing team members will live locally, use OpCo office space, but report centrally and participate in multi-national projects & tasks.
