Roles and Responsibilities
- You define European supply chain strategy to meet the needs of the plants (delivery & quality) while achieving the objectives of the corporation (cost & cash flow)
- You support the development and apply the foundry strategy, alloys strategy and lead/represent the company during the Quarterly Business Reviews with the key global suppliers
- You achieve material containments & cost reductions
- You establish the supplier base ( qualified, adequate capacity, best return ( SDT) and appropriate contingency following risk analysis)
- You identify and justify pattern tooling development
- You ensure a world class European supply chain giving the company a competitive edge ( procurement best practice & competitor sourcing matrix)
- You follow inflation indices and develop material containment programs and cost reduction programs to achieve best cost for the company
- You maintain net material inflation Exhibit 109
- You negotiate T & C’s and maintain supplier contracts and establish supplier performance criteria
- You develop/ensure strategies and action plan for continuous improvement
- You approve increases & surcharges
Qualifications
- Solid knowledge and experience in the steel casting commodity including alloys
- Degree in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Team-worker, able to find simple solutions for complex issues.
- Excellent sense of business in order to negotiate the best conditions with a wide range of foundry suppliers (different cultures, varying company sizes)
- Strong leadership to take initiatives and to represent the company on European and WW level in the Group.
Languages
Fluent in French and English; other main European languages an advantage.
