In this Mission
you are challenged by the company goal to increase the market position. It is your job to recognize the chances in the supplier markets and to take them, to develop new ideas with suppliers and to implement them and to think and to act as an entrepreneur. There is large purchasing volume to be mastered, taking over the responsibility of the strategic purchasing for raw materials such as granulates and chemicals. You are dedicated to the following objectives:
- to set the vision, direction and strategy for core commodities/suppliers, ensuring goals and objectives meet the organisation’s short, medium and longer term goals of margin enhancement, revenue and profit growth and international expansion into new markets
- to deliver a agreed budgeted savings
- to personally lead and be involved in business critical alternative sourcing projects to drive a shift from local to international sourcing, involving all aspects of supply market reviews, risk assessment and supplier negotiation
- to develop global supplier base with focus on low cost countries
- to assist the Sourcing Direct in key projects, Purchasing related activities.
- lead and be involved in a broad range of value analysis / value engineering exercises to drive out cost through specification simplification and process change
- to support the drive for innovation in new product development, working with cross-functional teams on standardising specifications throughout design process
- to raise the impact, profile and value of Procurement contribution across the organisation, developing trust and good relations with stakeholders at all levels, particularly the Operations Director, FD, and other key members of the senior management team
We have challenging requirements
Due to the strong commitment to provide excellent value for our customers. But that is nothing new for you, since you have a proofed record of achievements, demonstrable track record in driving processes; highly customer centric attitude and your communication skills are above average. Ideally you have also:
- A strong background in a best-practice sourcing organisation, ideally having had experience working within an medical or chemical environment
- Experience in pan-European, global and low cost country sourcing
- Be a hands on Category Manager of graduate calibre
- Good leadership skills with clear abilities in team building
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking ability
- High level of energy, tenacity and results focus; experience of succinct delivery
- Good in English and German
