Mission
The Commodity Manager leads the entire purchasing process from initial sourcing across contract and Affordable Cost negotiations to the support activities. He/she is responsible for the achievement of the yearly objectives, in terms of target savings, supplier rating and controlling the measures. He/ she drives the implementation and further evolution of new and existing tools.
- Responsible to organize and mange a complete Category for assigned Sourcing spend according to global strategy
- Market and promote implementation of Category Strategies and value contribution to internal customer
- Support the Category management team for the tender and negotiation of all bids and projects
- Take ownership of and act as interface to sales and other functions for any commodity requirements, needs and issues
- Guide and prepare sourcing KPIs for the Category
- Manage Category budget; achieve cost reduction targets
- Identify and facilitate synergies within the organisation
- Manage contact to other functions to drive and improve early involvement in MoB decisions, influence technology strategy by providing supply market intelligence (technology screening towards suppliers and alignment of technology roadmaps)
Requirements
- Relevant degree (diploma or master) in business administration, engineering or other equivalent area
- At least 4 years of professional experience in purchasing (Global Sourcing, Target Costing & functional specifications, e-Procurement, Contract Management
- Performance-oriented and good analytical skills
- Pragmatic and solutions-oriented
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Good German Language skills required
