The Position
The Category Management Associate position will be responsible for providing cross-functional business analysis support in a variety of customer-facing roles. Almost immediately after joining our client, their associates are assigned to streams of project-based work in the areas of Strategic Sourcing, Market Intelligence and Category Management through opportunity assessments and supporting the development of detailed, fact-based business cases. The ideal candidate is personable, diligent, analytic, and willing to pursue increasing levels of responsibility. These entry level positions present significant opportunity to grow into leadership and management roles.
Duties may include the following:
- Perform data collection and analysis
- Develop total cost of ownership baselines for our client customers’ external purchases
- Conduct supply market research and benchmarking
- Create, manage and analyze RFP’s (Request for Proposals)
- Develop new sourcing tools / methods
- Perform problem-solving functions to ensure customer satisfaction with our client’s services
- Conduct category and supplier performance management
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, independent self-starter that thrives on challenge and delivering exceptional results. The ideal candidate must possess a desire to learn and deliver as a true team player.
Role Requirements:
- University graduates with majors in languages, mathematics, statistics, and computer science, engineering or similar. Other majors are welcomed to apply.
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal in both English and German including formal presentation skills;
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including knowledge of Pivot tables) , PowerPoint and Word. Access skills are a plus but not required
- Experience in a procurement, logistics, materials management or supply chain manufacturing / consulting environment with demonstrated track record of delivering results would be an asset
- Strong multi-phase project management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Ability to adapt communications to conform to the varied corporate cultures and organizational structures of our customers
